Frequently Asked Questions
West Central Georgia Medical Managers Association
|

WHO CAN BE A SPEAKER AT ONE OF YOUR LUNCH AND LEARNS?
Well, practically anyone who has information which would be of interest to the
local medical community. We do limit the speakers to a generic presentation
and encourage anyone who does a presentation not to just “sell their wares”.
CAN I JOIN AND THEN SEND SOMEONE FROM MY OFFICE IN MY
PLACE IF I CANNOT ATTEND A MEETING?
In the past, we have allowed first time attendees to attend for free, then we
have required full payment for each office member.
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE MEMBERSHIP DUES THAT YOU
COLLECT?
We are a not-for-profit organization. All of the money we collect is used for
scholarships which are distributed at our December meeting each year, and
to pay the expenses of educational meetings, health care conferences,
lunches & snacks.
DO ANY OF YOUR BOARD MEMBERS RECEIVE A SALARY?
No, the board members do not receive any compensation. We do, however,
pay a small stipend to our executive secretary for all of the paperwork involved
in running the organization.
HOW CAN I BE MORE INVOLVED IN THE ORGANIZATION? CAN I BE
A BOARD MEMBER OR A CHAIRPERSON?
We would love to have anyone who wants to help. We have multiple board
members and chairpersons and we can certainly use all of the help that we
can get. You can contact any board member and let your wishes be known.
We usually start the process in the early 4th quarter of each year so please
feel free to contact any of us and we will find a place for your talents.
HOW MUCH IS IT TO BECOME A MEMBER?
$50.00 from January - December
WHEN I SIGN UP TO BECOME A MEMBER, HOW LONG DOES MY
MEMBERSHIP LAST?
Memberships are based on a calendar year, beginning in January and ending
in December. A membership is valid during the year in which you sign up,
ending in December. We start new memberships in January of each year.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU HOST LUNCH & LEARNS?
Meetings are held bi-monthly.
